PROFESSIONAL INSPECTION

If you're buying, selling, building, remodeling, repairing a property or requiring a one-year home warranty inspection, I hold a home inspection certification which qualifies me to provide a variety of impartial professional inspection services from a general inspection of an entire property to a specific inspection of a system or component.  As a certified home inspector, I am a member of CREIA (California Real Estate Inspection Association), which requires strict adherence to a rigorous Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

CREIA's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice are recognized by the California Business and Professions Codes and are considered the standard of care by the real estate industry and legal profession in the state.  As a member of CREIA, I am qualified to provide a certified professional inspection.  CREIA holds its members to a high degree of professionalism and integrity and requires the following:

    •  CREIA members must have successfully passed the proctored comprehensive written California Home Inspector Exam on the myriad of systems and components in the construction and maintenance of residential dwellings in order to become a licensed home inspector.

    •  CREIA members are required to meet rigorous professional and educational requirements that include the completion of a minimum of 30 Continuing Education Credits each year to maintain their home inspection certification.

    •  CREIA members must act fairly and impartially and avoid any conflict of interest in order to assure the consumer a completely objective inspection.

    •  CREIA members may not use an inspection as a vehicle to obtain repair or related work on a home.

    •  CREIA members may not reveal the contents of an inspection report to anyone but the client without the client's consent.

    •  CREIA members may not be involved in any real estate activity from which they might benefit financially as a result of their inspection work.

    •  CREIA members may not offer an opinion or evaluation on any subject with which they are not sufficiently familiar and experienced.
